GM Sara Splatter

Sara is a Game Master and co-founder of Crystal Sword Games. She has been playing Dungeons & Dragons for over 20 years and first stepped behind the screen in 2018. She runs horror and high fantasy games—from cursed voyages to funeral home infiltrations to tavern nights that spiral out of control. Her games are cinematic, character-driven, and maybe a touch chaotic (if the right players are at the table). They may also feature a dangerously charismatic woman or two. Sara especially loves introducing new players to the game and watching them go from unsure of the basics to discovering the player they were meant to be. When she’s not GMing and running Crystal Sword Games Sara works as a Licensed Veterinary Technician and spends time with her partner Jeremy, her dog Bear, and her cat Guenhwyvar.

Jett

GM Jett

Jett is a Game Master and co-founder of Crystal Sword Games. A lifetime devotee of all things fantasy & sci-fi, Jett has been a Game Master for 10 out of the 15 years they’ve been playing TTRPGs. They’ve run hundreds of games for bars, game stores, events, and private tables in New York City, as well as online games for players all over the world. Jett loves creating roleplay-rich experiences that foster an environment of mutual respect, curiosity, and fun. They provide inclusive game experiences that make room for everyone to bring their unique piece to the story (with a healthy balance of combat and strategy, of course!) From silly to serious, Jett’s games come with good narrative sense, improv skills, some fun character voices, and the adaptability necessary to nudge the story in the direction the players find most interesting. When they’re not rolling dice, Jett is probably finding an excuse to have a beer on the ferry (they love a boat ride), watching old detective noirs or Star Trek, carrying around their partner Vigor Mortis’ wig at the drag show, or caring for their judgmental lizards, Dr. Teeth and Bartimaeus.

Warren

he/him

Warren

Warren’s favorite phrase at the TTRPG table is “How much health do you have left?”. He’s been a game master for 14 years, specializing in grandiose boss battles with villains equally as tactical as the players. Games at his table are often filled with morally grey raucous characters, untrustworthy mercenaries, powerful beings in disguise as flower merchants, and grunge punk chimeras. Magic the Gathering players will recognize quickly that he generally uses MTG planes for his one-shots and arcs, giving veteran players DnD a pleasantly unfamiliar surprise and new hazards to puzzle out. While he mostly runs Dungeons and Dragons, his favorite influences are Mörq Borg, Into The Wyrd and Wild, Kult, Orun, Overlight, Call of Cthulhu and Kids on Bikes. Don’t ask him anything about Final Fantasy, or prepare for a long night. Warren loves showing new players the ropes, and anyone that’s played multiple games with him knows that everything is connected, in some small way.

His games are all run at lvl 5, and, players are welcome to bring their own characters to any of his games. If using a homebrew class, just send it his way first via email or griffin, and he’ll get back faster than you can solve one of his time puzzles.

Austin

Austin Headshot

For over twenty years Austin has been a storytelling, mischievous, part-time game master who has provided enriching, memorable, and ultimately satisfying role-playing experiences for hundreds of fair folks across the multi-verse. To satisfy society, they are an aerial arts instructor by night, a photographer / behavioral specialist by day, but always a storyteller at heart. All adventuring levels are welcome – from expert to beginner – there is a place for everyone at this table. Austin believes in putting his years of improv acting, voice acting, and whimsy to good use in creating narratives that draws players into a rich world. Each game the players will experience their own personal story arch outside of the parties over-all quest. Every game will have the three pillars of exploration, role-playing, and combat with stakes that will make you care. Austin enjoys theater of mind, but he brings forth a table full of props of the highest caliber, many hand crafted or painted by himself with Dwarven Forge sets, leather-bound books, and shiny rocks. Their table is a safe space for queer or neurodivergent persons and will take into account any sensory needs as you go along. They abide by standard safety rules at the table and rule of cool reigns. Book Austin’s table for bad accents, props, and a good time.
